I’ve been ill for the past couple of days and this affords me plenty of TV time. I mix between pre-recorded stuff I want to watch (while awake) and trash on live TV (while snoozing).

And so I came across an interesting juxtaposition. It’ll make an excellent game for you to play at home. No Googling or clicking on any of my links until you’ve guessed!

The video above is from the straight-to-TV movie Thanksgiving Family Reunion. Recognise anyone? Anyone who seems sort of “out-of-place”?

How about a hint? Watch this:

The answer is Bryan Cranston. If you didn’t know the name, click the link, and take half points if you at least knew the face. Give yourself a bonus point if you knew the answer before they fleetingly mentioned his name and Malcolm in the Middle appearance.

Pretty big jump from Woodrow Snider to Walter White!

I don’t know much about actors or acting but this shows more versatility than most Hollywood actors ever show. (Is that down to their poor skills or the risk-adverse studios? Probably sometimes one, sometimes the other.)

(By the way, appearing in bad TV-movies is fine when going up in your acting career — let’s not mock anyone for that. It’s when you appear in them on the way down that it’s sad.)
