A short progress report on game-in-development Vox Venio.
Tonight I implemented the start of the voice control. It’s working well, as you can see. Very, very few voice recognition mistakes. That’s because the vocabulary of commands is so small.
However it’s a bit slow to respond. (It doesn’t help that the negative-colour Mario is so fast, either.)
That’s why I started adding discrete-action commands like “jump left” and “jump right”. I was going to add more along the lines of “step left” and “step right” but it was getting late.
I’m also considering a kind-of “come to me” command where the voice-controlled character stops when he touches you.
