That video is only tangentially related but it is so great I had to post it.
But to the topic at hand… The music in the real anti-piracy ad was used without permission — the artist had stated it was for exclusive use at a local film festival. Not for use on dozens and dozens of DVD releases (and I seem to remember seeing it at the cinema too).
Using music without permission is stealing*. Stealing is AGAINST THE LAW.
